Troubleshooting failed audits

What to do when an audit fails or times out: unresolvable domains, slow or blocking servers, private network addresses and other common errors.
  • "The domain name could not be resolved" — check spelling; the domain may not exist or DNS is down.
  • "The server did not respond in time" — the site is slow or blocking our requests. Try again later.
  • "Refusing to connect… non-public address" — the domain points to a private network; SkySiteAudit only checks public websites.
  • Many 403 errors — a firewall or bot protection may block SkySiteAuditBot. Site owners can allowlist the user agent SkySiteAuditBot.
