Using the SEO Checker

What the free single-page SEO Checker does step by step: robots.txt and sitemaps, redirects, internal links, on-page checks and the final report.

The SEO Checker audits one page. Behind the scenes SkySiteAudit:

  1. Validates the address and refuses private or internal networks.
  2. Reads /robots.txt and discovers sitemaps.
  3. Fetches the page (following up to 10 redirects, each one re-checked) and parses the HTML.
  4. Checks up to 25 internal links on the page for errors.
  5. Loads the page once in headless Chromium with mobile emulation for lab performance and mobile layout checks.
  6. Checks whether http:// redirects to https:// and whether www/non-www are consolidated.

Results are saved at a private, unguessable address. Visitor reports are deleted after 30 days.

Why does a check say "Not measured"? The data wasn't available — for example the page isn't HTML, the browser couldn't load it, or robots.txt returned an error. Those checks are excluded from the score.
